Biography:
Nadnapang Phophichit, Ph.D., is a remarkable individual whose life journey has been deeply intertwined with the fields of Buddhist studies and psychology. Her passion for understanding the human mind and promoting well-being has led her to excel in her educational pursuits and make significant contributions in her professional career.

Nadnapang’s educational background reflects her unwavering commitment to expanding her knowledge and expertise. She earned a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies, where her research focused on investigating the effects of Buddhist psychological factors on the resilience of adolescents. Her groundbreaking work shed light on the potential of the Buddha’s teachings to enhance resilience and empower young individuals in navigating the challenges of life. 

Prior to her Ph.D., she obtained a Master of Arts degree in Buddhist Psychology, where she conducted research on the relationship between Buddhist psychological factors and resilience among adolescents in Bangkok Metropolis. These educational pursuits showcased her dedication to exploring the intersection between Buddhism and psychology, paving the way for her future contributions in the field.

In addition to her degrees in Buddhist studies, Nadnapang holds a Bachelor of Science in Clinical and Community Psychology. This diverse educational background equips her with a comprehensive understanding of human behavior and community dynamics, enabling her to approach her work from a holistic perspective.

Currently, Nadnapang serves as the Director of the Graduate Program in Peace Studies (International Program), and as a lecturer at the International Buddhist Studies College (IBSC) at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University. In these esteemed roles, she guides students and promotes the integration of the Buddha’s teachings and peace education.

Nadnapang’s dedication to research is evidenced by her involvement in various research projects funded by prestigious organizations. She is currently engaged in studying the innovative use of chatbot technology to build stress resilience based on Buddhist psychology in the working-aged population. This groundbreaking research, funded by Thailand Science Research and Innovation, aims to leverage technology and Buddhist principles to enhance the well-being of individuals. Additionally, she is exploring the effects of the Four Foundations of Mindfulness-Based Intervention (FFMBI) on various physiological and psychological aspects of practitioners. Her research endeavors aim to bridge the gap between wisdom from the Buddha’s teachings and modern science, providing practical applications for well-being in today’s society. This research, funded by the International Buddhist Studies College, seeks to provide empirical evidence of the benefits of mindfulness practices in promoting holistic well-being.

Nadnapang’s expertise extends beyond her research endeavors. She has published research work on adolescent resilience, contributing to the body of knowledge in her field. As a lecturer, she imparts her wisdom and knowledge in courses such as “Psychology in Daily Life” and “Mindfulness for Emotional Intelligence.” Her teachings inspire students to apply psychological principles and mindfulness practices to their everyday lives, fostering personal growth and emotional well-being.

Nadnapang’s dedication to understanding and addressing mental health issues is further highlighted by her previous clinical psychology training at the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Division of the Police General Hospital. This hands-on experience provided her with invaluable insights into the challenges faced by individuals seeking mental health support, further fueling her commitment to making a positive impact in the field.

Nadnapang’s dedication to professional growth and ethical practices is evident in the training courses she has completed. She participated in courses such as "Promoting Resiliency in Children" organized by The Thai Clinical Psychologist Association and the Department of Mental Health, “Additional Skills in CBT: Anxiety & Fear” and “Basic Skills in CBT Workshop” conducted by the Cognitive Behavior Therapy Alliance of Thailand and Chulalongkorn University. These courses equipped her with specialized skills to address specific mental health concerns and implement evidence-based interventions. Furthermore, she completed training in ethics in human research, ensuring the ethical conduct of her studies and safeguarding the rights and well-being of research participants. Nadnapang also completed a training course to register as a mediator under the Dispute Mediation Act, emphasizing her commitment to peaceful conflict resolution.
